Pioneering Sustainable Luxury Retail

In 2018, Gita created the first sustainable resort boutique, establishing a new benchmark for luxury retail rooted in
environmental and social responsibility long before it became an industry priority.

Gita’s curation framework evaluates brands across eight pillars of sustainability, climate, nature, water, community impact, innovation, supply chain, ethics, and circularity; ensuring every partnership reflects a standard of conscious values driven luxury.

Today, Gita’s portfolio features over 140 sustainable changemaker brands, each selected for its commitment to responsible practices and measurable impact. This ecosystem allows guests to discover good design that is inherently sustainable. All pieces are created with intention, ethics, and enduring value.

Innovation & Regeneration: Tom Dixon's "Submersion” Project   Soneva

True to this vision, Gita collaborates with innovators like Tom Dixon. His Submersion project exemplifies regenerative design at its pinnacle. It utilizes AI-driven site analysis to identify vulnerable reefs and deploys mineral accretion technology to grow new limestone structures, accelerating coral recovery in the Maldives. This initiative demonstrates how design, science, and sustainability can converge to protect and restore fragile ecosystems.

The project and its sustainable design narrative were showcased at the Soneva Art & Glass Gallery in 2024. The exhibition featured not only coral regeneration prototypes but also Dixon’s broader practice, including works in recycled aluminium, reclaimed glass, and innovative, environmentally conscious materials.

It reflects Gita’s core conviction: the future of luxury lies in pioneering solutions that restore, not merely inspire.
